Harvest, 2019

A collaborative project undertaken with Kira Jacobson, centered around the theme of harvest, occurring in October at the time of two harvest festivals within our cultures: Sukkot (a Jewish harvest festival) and Mid-Autumn Festival (an East Asian harvest festival). We built this sukkah together (with carpentry guidance from Rosie Sokolov), hosted two public events within it that included sukkah decorating, tea and mooncake making, a shabbat in the sukkah, and a reading of some of the text we composed together. Publication “The Harvest Cookbook” forthcoming, comprised of “recipes” created from our intentional daily correspondences in the month preceding the events.
