MedeaHouse, 2014
MedeaHouse was a site-specific installation and performance piece, similarly structured to Home Sweet Home, directed by Anna Lublina. Several autonomous scenes played on loop in different rooms of a house, and audience members could walk through to experience at their own pace. It was an adaptation of “Despoiled Shore Medeamaterial Landscape with Argonauts” (1981) by Heiner Muller, the first ever in English. Each room designed their scene and operated autonomously. In the dirt-floored room I co-created and performed in, we followed a set of created performance instructions, and over the course of the one-night-only performance, we destroyed and turned into chaos the room we had built.
